There are 25 suggestions to question “Straightening Natural Hair (Part 3)”
No, don’t use oil to straighten your hair! It will cook it.
Yes, I do. Some people opt for the wet-to-dry flat iron, but I prefer to blow dry and straighten with a traditional flat iron.
you look so different ummm do you have to have your hair completely dry to straight iron it?
For hair texture as thick as yours….oils are your best bet. Hair creams, promades will revert back into your afro curl. Use coconut oil or olive oil to straighten your hair.
I even tried Chi infusion and that shit is total crap. I’m a 4b/4c and coconut oil really seal in the moisture as it straightens the hair. In addition, it’s best to press hair during the Winter season since the weather is cooler. Just some tips.
It’s from Maxi Glide.
what kind is that skinny flat iron?
Thank you!!
good luck!
your hair looks sooo healthy…beautiful healthy black hair!
What I learned is that I could blow dry my hair or roller set it to get a strait look. That way you don’t need to fear heat. Your hair came out gorgeous! I can’t wait to be natural! LOL!
well i think flat ironing is okay everyonce in a while as long as u have a heat protectant. and after ur done wearing that style give ur hair a break from it and deep condtion often
Hello darling. U kno to be honest, too much of anything is bad. So, I would agree (learned the hard way) that over straightening…meaning often…ur hair is harmful due to heat damage. I would recommend switching up ur styles to better protect ur hair. For instance, one week straighten, the next braids, the next a twist-out and so on. If u do any style for too long (especially if it involves heat and tension) can be harmful. I pray that this helps. If not, just message me.
while im transitioning im getting my hair flat ironed, i just dont know if its ok to get my hair straightened every month because of heat damage and what other people are saying. like they say weaves, relaxers, AND NOW FLAT IRONING is bad? so am i just stuck with braids and a ponytail for 2 years.?
So glad I could help!
I am definetly gonna check this out I am transitioning and I have had braids most of the summer and I kinda just want somethingthat wont take longfor me to do while I transition thanks for the review.
lol….thanks sweetie!
Yeah, it really has grown since my last trim, which was almost a month ago.
Thanks for the love ma’am!
Aw, thanks…ur too kind.
Thanks a lot!!
your hair is sooooo beautiful. ugh love it!
omgosh your hair is so long! It looks great. I don’t care for bone straight hair either. A lot of naturals turn up with damaged hair ends due to excessive heat.
Plus, your hair has a lot of BODY. You’d lose that with silky straight.
