Straightening my hair with Shima!! (Part 1 of 2)

Shima does NOT inspire we ladies to make use of prohibited manacles or any alternative sort of feverishness appliances upon your hair each day!!!

There are 25 suggestions to question “Straightening my hair with Shima!! (Part 1 of 2)”

  1. shima as much as i love you, your vids, and your lovely oil….you definentally shouldnt use oil when you use heat on your hair. it literally frys/burns your hair. maybe u should use a heat protectant spray before u flatiron and then put the oil on after you flatiron……do whatever makes you feel comfortable this is just a tip =]

  2. Hey Shima when u decide to check ur length again u should look up a flat iron called MaxiGlide which is a steam flat iron so instead of using heat u could use steam to straight that part……

  3. Honestly im not a professional or anything of that nature but almost everyone in my family is….I’d like to say something about what i like to call the “fried Chicken” method. when you apply heat to the hair I think its best to not add heavy oils or anything to your hair. it needs to be clean because if you add oil and heat it will be fried!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. miss shima i jus want to ask a question to clarify something i heard. I read that you shouldnt use oil when using heat appliances because you will “fry” ur hair. Is that true or not?

  5. Hi Shima…your hair is too beautiful…you are such an inspiration to me when it comes to hair care and length retention…God Bless!

  6. Shima your hair is beautiful!

  7. lexyladybug81 please see my response to sacredgoddess

  8. lumaone please see my response to caramel0911

  9. caramel0911 that’s what I used to do in the past but because I have TWO different textures what happened was that I got ALOT of breakage.

  10. sacredgoddess my Shima oil IS my heat protectant and my curling iron IS made out of ceramic. I showed the box it came in in “Shima shatters her Aphogee fear.”

  11. please do not take offense but d letter ‘r’ in ‘iron’ is silent…so u can say ‘ion’ not i-ron

  12. shouldnt you be using a heat protectant and ceramic straightner and not a curling iron

  13. didn’t*

  14. well dj i didnit say she did!! im giving advice ….

  15. Well Shima doesn’t know everything….she said herself she is not a professional…therefore we know not to take her word as the Bible on all her tips….

  16. I normally like your videos because they are informative, but this one didn’t make sense to me. Why are the curling the ends of your hair to check the length? Shouldn’t you flat iron the new growth and then check the length since hair grows from the scalp, not the ends?

  17. great advice shima!!! not using heat has helped me tremendously!

  18. Lovely hair…but…I think it would have made more sense to flat iron the top 3/4 to get it flatter/less puffy, which would have given you more length to measure. The ends are the most fragile/over processed part of the hair (and looked like the straightest)…don’t think you gained more length from ironing them. And oil is not a good idea when flat ironing…you’re frying your hair!

  19. thats true heat appliances damage hair… i wonder how my hair ever grew past shoulder length when it was relaxed i stayed getting m y hair blown out …the only damage i got was from coloring it over and over again….

  20. u shouldnt use oils then flat iron your hair….u should use heat protectant…

  21. wonderful video! as sure it is nice to see progress especially for ladies who experience a lot of shrinkage.

  22. I find that when I detangle 1st before getting in the shower to wash, I lose a lot of hair.
…Then when I get in the shower and detangle after washing I lose even more hair.

Is it necessary to fully detangle with a comb, BEFORE you wet and wash your hair ?

  23. gr8 advice!! the irons only dry out our hair if used daily.

  24. jahoyle I simply prefer the rounded curling irons as they allow me to do the fun little twirl to the ends:)

  25. why dont you get a flat iron
