In conditions of quality, how great is a Revlon 1/4 in. ceramic hair straightener upon a scale of 1-5? 1 being a worst, 5 being a best.
There are 2 suggestions to question “How good is a Revlon hair straightener ?”
1, as far as #1 hair damager, causes hair to not grow normally. I’ve answered more how to grow hair, here on YA HAIR since 2009, and also why people are getting balder.
ALL HAIR STRAIGHTENERS, no matter what brand, who sells them, how much you paid for them, ALL damage the hair. Read YA HAIR for 30 mins. and you can read what it’s doing to their hair, even the most expensive salon products: Hair loss, hair falling, split ends, hair not growing normally.

About two years ago i put a chi chemical Straightener in my hair and now my hair is SUPER damaged and i have a lot of breakage, and my hair looks super bad. I have been trying hair product after hair product and none of them seem to be working.
Another ex:
I am 14 years old, I used to straighten my hair but I stopped and started blow drying my hair but I’m stopping that now too, In the past half year I have dyed my hair black twice but I’m probably stopping that now too.
And another ex:
I don’t hate my hair or anything…it’s just not what I would like it to be. It sticks up sometimes in places and is damaged from my Chi straightener. I have been using protection the past few months on my hair and have also started using Tresemme Thermal Recovery shampoo and conditioner. I also spray Chi Iron Guard on my hair before I start straightening. It’s helped, but I want to find other ways to get my hair shinier and softer too. My hair sometimes feels rough, not really terribly coarse or hard or anything that bad but I want it smooth and soft. Help mee!
Example:
i have relaxed my hair and i am really trying to keep it healthy still but… I want it longer and im not sure whats safe and what not to do… HELP PLEASE!!!!
And another:
I had brazillian hair straightening, now my hair is falling out, what can I do to curb it?
But this one says it all:
Ok so the last time I had a real haircut was about 3 years ago. I used to straighten my hair about 5 times a week, for like a a year and a half after that and it did not grow at all during that time. Well I dyed it and I could see the roots, but it never got longer, I guess it was breaking off..So finally I got an inch trimmed off cause I thought that might help but I kept straightening it and still it didn’t grow. So like last december I got it trimmed again and I decided I would stop straightening and dying my hair for good so haven’t straightened or dyed it in like 8 months now and still it hasn’t even grown 1 inch. Oh and also I have been getting it trimmed like 1/4 inch every other month now since january cuz the hairdresser told me that would help it grow, but it’s not in fact my hair is now actually shorter then when I started three years ago because of those trims I had, it’s only like shoulder length now
Anyways why won’t my hair grow?? I have taken so many vitamins, I tried hair skin and nails, hairtopia, hairfinity, prenatal vitamins. I eat healthy and I exercise too and I take really good care of my hair, I only wash it twice a week in cool water now and I deep condition and everything, but still it never grows anymore, I think it might be breaking off, but why would it be still breaking off now that I have been taking such good care of it??
Those who can’t predict their future will find out the hard way by the time they’re 35 years old.
The hair industry is a billion dollar business, their job is to make money, but they don’t give money back guarantee for damaged hair.
Jose Eber is a good example, another celebrity hairstylist of the stars, in the 80′s wrote a book "Shake your head darling.’ Promoting the healthy way to style hair. Many of his celebrity models have fried hair. Now he’s promoting his own brand of hair straightening tools, which also damage the hair. Why? Because he can! By now, I think he’s bald under that hat. He never took it off since the 80′s! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Eber

I know hair. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy long hair. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80′s & 90′s. I have friends whose hair stopped growing even by age 35 who straightened their hair in the 70′s.
I got that straightener as a back up a few months ago when my professional straightener broke, and it was horrible. I bought it because i saw it as a best rated product in a magazine, but i personally thought it wasn’t a good flat iron at all. I would give it a 1. You really should invest in a good professional hair straightener. Even though they’re more expensive than the straighteners you buy at target, walmart, etc..but they’re WAY better quality and they work so much better. Once you use a professional straightener you will never go back to cheap drug store straighteners. I have a solia and it’s amazing, i got mine for about $65. It’s totally worth the price because it’s high quality and will last much longer than cheap $20 something dollar straighteners that you’ll be replacing every few months, plus it honestly straightens your hair SO much better than any cheap straighteners.
