Good Hair Straightener

Has anyone tried the Maxiglide hair straightener?

Is it great as well as what do we put o your hair when regulating it?

There are one Suggestion to question “Has anyone tried the Maxiglide hair straightener?”

  1. Yes! I actually got conned into buying one SOMEHOW… and all I have to say is DON’T BUY IT!

There are SO many things wrong with it. First of all, if you try to use any kind of product in your hair to protect it from heat, which you SHOULD do, it gets stuck in the tiny grooves around the comb part of the plate, is IMPOSSIBLE to remove (ive tried everything, even putting it in the dishwasher.) and to make things worse, as it gets stuck there, it BURNS and smells so bad that the entire room smells like burning hair after you use the straightener.

Which brings me to my next point… the plates themselves just suck. Your hair gets snagged in them, even if you don’t squeeze on it very hard. I used the maxiglide for years because I didn’t want to save up for a new straightener, and it literally killed my hair. You’ll notice that it LOOKS straight and perfect for about 2 minutes, and then it starts to get stick-like and dry, and has an unmanageable texture. It doesn’t end up pin straight and sleek like hair on people who use good, ceramic straighteners. I got so many more split ends when I used the maxiglide.

It’s also very large, inflexible, cumbersome and heavy.

I’ve since bought a Fhi and I really love it. There are a lot of different kinds on this site, this is where I bought mine.

Some of them seem pricey, but there are some cheaper ones, and they’re not bad either. If you can save up though, i’d definitely get a fhi, chi, or something similar. Believe me, a maxiglide will do nothing for your hair.

Also, if it helps, my hair texture is fine and wavy. should be easy to straighten, right? Not with that thing…
