you do need layers im the same you also need lots of product it dosent have to be hairspray i personaly wouldent use hairspray on curly hair cuz it makes you hair dry so use like surum you can get them at local shops wax mabey but you do need layers i used to straighten mine and tease it but it went flat and curly so now i scrunch it with water straighten the ends and had some layers put in and straightend my fringe and tbh it looks preety cool hpe I helped

gooood question..uhh,cuz usually scene hair is way poofier and you need to tease a lot of short layers;;short layers dont really work on curly hair…
